How To Use A Song Page To Your Advantage

In this tutorial, we will be talking through how to use a song page to your advantage:

TRANSPOSABLE CHARTS/LYRICS IN DARK MODE

  • When you go into a song page, there is a section right at the top of the chord chart that says “Transpose” where you can change the key of a song to best suit your team

ADD TO PLANNING CENTER OR DOWNLOAD A CHORDPRO

  • Underneath the song title in a song page, there is a row of icons that contain extra add-ons to help you reduce your workload and provide easy access to the resources that you may need. The first icon is a link to add the specific song to
  • When you click on the Planning Center icon, there will be a pop-up window that asks you to sign into your Planning Center account and
  • Once signed in, it will automatically add the song to your Planning Center library.

SCRIPTURE REFERENCES

  • On the right-hand side of the chord chart, there is a section of helpful information. At the bottom, there is a “Scripture References” column where related verses from the Bible are linked with the song. If you hover over a passage that is listed, there will be a pop-up box that lets you read the verse and see if you’d like to implement it into one of your transitions or use it to help explain the context of the song to your team.

BPMS, REC. KEYS, AND THEMES

  • Towards the right-hand side of the chord chart there is a lot of great helpful information including the theme(s) of the song, BPM, as well as the recommended keys to sing the song. These can be very helpful for seeing if a song fits the theme and works well with the rest of your set, as well as making sure that you know the characteristics of the original song if you are trying to have your band play it similar to the original.

  • There are many other resources that can be found right in our song pages. The many icons that are underneath the song titles include links to Planning Center, Multitracks, Brentwood Benson, Apple Music, and Spotify. All of these will be linked to the corresponding song page on their sites. If you are unsure of what icon is for which resource, you can hover over the icon and it will tell you where the link will take you.
