“Royalty is about my history with Jesus,” Tasha shares. “In life, we go through ups and downs, years of joy and years of frustration. But the consistent thing is that, through all of those seasons of life, God has never changed the way He looks at us. He sees His children as royal. He paid the cost so we could be royalty. That thought has changed my life.”

The compelling project is written largely by Tasha Cobbs Leonard, with co-writes from Brandon Lake, Dante Bowe, and Travis Greene. Guest features include long-time collaborator and friend Kierra Sheard, chart-topping family band We The Kingdom, and pop superstar Ciara on a special bonus track.

Originally planned as a first-of-its-kind, sold-out gospel recording at one of Nashville’s most famed venues, Royalty: Live At The Ryman became a closed-to-the-public recording for “an audience of One” in the face of the global pandemic. Still, Tasha’s commitment to her artistic vision was unwavering.

“I wanted to capture the empty room,” explains Tasha. “I wanted it to be very clear that this was done at a certain time in history, but that Tasha Cobbs Leonard didn’t give any less… that, from the band and singers to the lights and staging, Tasha didn’t give any less. This performance was for Him.”
